Somthing to show for our efforts

The green house is now half finished, we have a roof and one wall
most importantly we have solved the design issues which was the projects biggest challenge.
We have run out of bottles now but the building process can continue as we collect more.
I think it looks cool, and its great that all those bottles would be lying around disued if we hadnt collected them and that the kids that provided them can see that "waste" is a resource.

here we have pac choi, red mustard leaf, radishes and beans
all well mulched, bledo conquored
a healthy peach tree in the middle

in the background you can see my experiments with card board box mulching in preparation for the new seedlings.

compost Posted by Picasa

i was so pleased with my lovely compost heap, then yesterday the wall fell on it

i think it has held up rather well though

bottles Posted by Picasa
I have been collecting loads from the school
we clean them, remove the lable and cut of the bottom
they can then be stacked to form colomns and the walls of the greenhouse

this idea might be changed soon though
